SFUSD School Calendar
Wind in the Willows follows the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) calendar for holidays and school closures. Our neighborhood marker school is Sunnyside Elementary School.
The 2026-2027 school year begins Monday, August 17, 2026.
We use Brightwheel for daily communication, attendance, tuition billing, and updates. If you need help setting up your Brightwheel account, contact the school office.
Please call or email the school if your child will be absent or arriving after 9:00 AM.
Important Reminders
Nut-free facility: All snacks and lunches must be completely nut-free
Clothing: Send children in play clothes and sturdy shoes. Keep a change of clothes at school.
Rain gear: We go outside every day. Please send rain boots, coats, and pants during rainy season.
Emergency kit: Each child needs a kit at school (change of clothes, family photo, small comfort toy)
Immunizations: Must be current per California law. Visit shotsforschool.org for requirements.
Sign in/out: Required daily via Brightwheel per state licensing
Community
Wind in the Willows is more than a school. Families are encouraged to participate in events, volunteer in the classroom, and connect with other families through our shared roster.
Upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, and community updates are shared through Brightwheel and email throughout the year.
